RESPONSE LETTER TO DRS. BOYD AND LEFF

To the Editor: We appreciate the further elaboration on our key findings provided in the letter by Drs. Boyd and Leff.1 We had discussed in our article that guidelines may not be applicable to "frail elderly patients with multiple co-morbidities," as their letter also describes. As an additional point, we appreciate their emphasis on older patients' lack of social support and practice guidelines that typically focus on a single disease-matters that we did not elaborate on in a brief report format.
