Complete basal cell carcinoma remission with imiquimod in a patient with nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome and associated basal cell carcinoma of the scalp and invasive ductal breast cancer.

To the Editor: We report a 49-year-old woman who noticed several cutaneous tumors on her scalp and, shortly thereafter, two nodules in the left breast. She reported never having received radiation treatment to her scalp for tinea capitis or any other condition. Skin biopsies of the scalp tumor and the nodules of the left breast were performed. Histology showed superficial basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the scalp and an invasive ductal and medullar breast carcinoma of the left breast. Further investigation showed no regional lymph node involvement or distant metastasis (pT2pN0M0), and estrogen and progesterone receptors were not detected.
