Control charts provide food animal veterinarians with a method of evaluating management processes. Control charts, by use of simple statistical meth-ods, present data in an easily umderstood format. An analytical study (one type of statistical study)is one in which action will be taken on a cause-and effect system to improve performance of a product or a 'process in the future. The aim of an analytical study is prediction.
