Franklyn Angell

He often introduced himself as the "Angell of Mercy," which was true in the last 18 years of his life. During those years, Frank Angell was the chief of radiology at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore and a clinical professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. For Frank Angell, the road to Baltimore started in Roanoke, Virginia, wandered through Blacks-burg, Charlottesville, and Richmond, back to Roanoke, then to Detroit, Boston, and finally to Baltimore. He was born in Roanoke in 1924 and educated there in elementary and high school. After undergraduate studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the University of Virginia, he enrolled in the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
