As reported in the previous market outlook at beginning year of 2005 there was excess in consumption of coconut oil over production in the world market for first half of 2005. The production of coconut oil for January-June 2005 was 1.496 m MT while the consumption was 1.542 m MT. It means that the consumption was about 3.07% higher than production. This gap had brought down carry-over stock of the coconut oil during those periods in the world market. Monthly stock of the oil in Rotterdam Bounded Warehouse, for instance, for the period of January-June 2005 was decreasing at the rate of 21.43%. The stock ranged between 11,000 MT and 28,000 MT per month. As comparison the stocks in corresponding period of 2003 were between 73,000 and 138,300 MT; and between 13,700 MT and 67,400 MT for 2004.
