摘要

Litchi is one of the most important subtropical fruit with high export potential. The Chhotanagpur plateau is emerging as a potential region for Litchi cultivation (Dey et al. 2003). Increase in productivity and quality can be achieved in fruit cropsthrough foliar application of nutrients. Calcium fed through foliar spray has been reported to increase fruit set and fruit retention in guava (Singh, 1989). Several workers have claimed reduction in fruit drop and fruit cracking and improvement in quality of litchi fruits following boron and zinc sprays (Brahmachari et al. 1997). An attempt was made to study the effects of foliar application of calcium nitrate, zinc sulphate and borax on fruit retention, cracking and physico-chemical characters of litchi.
