摘要

Thin layer chromatography has been used to assess endogenous phospholipase A capabilities, in vitro, of tissue homogenates from various vertebrate species, from lamprey to man; the homogenates were compared in terms of their deacylation of cardiolipin, the plasmalogens, and of their N-acyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine synthesis. Comparisons were similarly made with various pancreas and venom phospholipases A_2 with a full spectrum of phospholipids as the proffered substrate.
