Realm completes Katingan feasibility

THE final touches have been put on the feasibility study for Realm Resources 51% owned Katingan Ria thermal coal project in Central Kalimantan. The study, independently reviewed by Xenith Consulting, supports the development of a 2.5 million tonnes per annum to 3.0 Mtpa open cut mine, with a life of mine of around 15 years. The study was based on coal being hauled 40-45km to a stockpiling and barge loading facility on the Katingan River, then barged 435km to the river mouth for transhipment into ships for delivery to market.
