PERTH-based metals company Realm Resources is positioning itself as a leading thermal coal producer in Indonesia, with major progress on its potential acquisition of a 75% share in the advanced Katingan Ria project in the country's Central Kalimantan Province. A specialist resources sector fund has become a cornerstone investor of Realm, with a $15 million funding package paving the way for the acquisition and development of Katingan Ria for first production by mid-2012. The funding deal from Taurus Funds Management will allow Realm to proceed with an initial 51 % acquisition of the coal project.
