The human middle ear is composed of the tympanic membrane, three ossicular bones (malleus, incus, and stapes), and suspensory ligaments and intra-aural muscle tendons. The middle ear ligaments and tendons connect ossicular bones to the cavity wall and adjust the movement of middle ear ossicles under sound pressure variations. The stapedial tendon is located between the stapes head and pyramidal eminence on the posterior wall of the middle ear. Measurement on mechanical properties of the stapedial tendon has not been reported in the literature.
