The Institute of Textile Science (ITS) is a non-profit organization in its 54th year of operation. With a mission to promote textiles research and innovation in Canada, its more than 50 members represent textile industry constituents, academics, government and textile or materials research centers. Research expertise includes heat protection, chemical agents/bacteria, nanofabrication, three-dimensional fabrics, intelligent wearable systems and standards development. A number of member innovations have been commercialized for the health, medical, protective and defense sectors.
