摘要

Optical absorption studies near the fundamental absorption edge provide a productive method for understanding the band structure and energy gap of both crystalline and amorphous non-metallic materials. The application of fast ion conductors in electro chromic displays depends on their optical properties. The material should have a high transmission in the solar wave-length range, in addition to being a good ionic conductor. Although many materials with very high ionic conductivity are available, the optical transmission requirement narrows down the choice to a few materials such as lithium aluminum fluoride, lithium niobate and lithium borate [1,2].
