摘要

The synthesis of cordierite monolithichoneycombs by solid state reaction at high temperature ofalumina, kaolin, talc and silica has been studied. Thesynthesized honeycombs have been characterized by DTAand XRD. The crystal composition of the samples have beenobserved to be very dependent on temperature and time ofreaction. Thermal treatment of the monolithic precursors at1400℃for 30 minutes allows formation of high puritycordierite with high crystallinity, maintaining the desiredmonolithic structure of the honeycombs.
