摘要

In this paper, a compensation methodfor correcting the residual form error due to tool de-centring in the ultra-precision machining of asphericsurfaces is discussed. The method makes use of theform measurement data from a Form Talysurf systemto modify the NC machine code generated by a toolpath generator (TPG) software in an ultra-precisionsingle-point diamond turning lathe. The performanceof tile compensation process was evaluated by a seriesof cutting tests. The results indicate that the residualform error due to tool de-centring can be significantlyreduced with the use of the compensation technique.Better results can be achieved if multi-compensations are used.
