An expert system of progressive die design for electron gun grid parts

Due to the requirement of high precision and complexity during the die design for electron gun elements, human errors sometimes occur. Also, in the case of novice designers, they require more trial-and-error than skilled engineers. To eliminatethese problems and increase productivity in practice, there is the need for the development of a CAD system for electron gun element progressive die. In this study, a CAD system for an electron element progressive die, which is used by a knowledge-basesystem and makes use of the expert technology of those in practice, has been developed. To develop this system, C-language has been used under the HP-UNIX system and CIS customer language of the EXCESS CAD/CAM system. The application of this system willprovide an effective aid to the designer in this field.
