Venezuela resumes exports, but the struggle to produce coal continues

Coal producers in Venezuela lifted their declarations of force majeure last month and resumed exports to the international market. However, even with the worst of the La Nina weather system behind them, Venezuelan coal producers are certain to have a difficult road ahead in 2011. It's the same old tired song and dance - not enough funds to purchase parts for machinery or carry out capital improvments.
