Interprofessional education (IPE) has been flourishing in the USA over the past 5 years. Renewed interest by practitioners, students, patients, policy-makers and regulatory bodies has ensured that IPE has come to the forefront of collective thinking in the USA about how we tackle a range of educational, professional and organizational factors, which impede the development of this form of learning.
