Improvement of the curvilinear coordinate method for scattering from rough surfaces: Reduction of the eigenvalue equation by using eigenvalue degenerescence

We present an improved version of the curvilinear coordinate method (CCM), for the analysis of the scattering by an aperiodic surface. Our version exploits the degenerescence of the eigenvalues to reduce the size of the eigenvalue problem. Our results have been compared successfully with those given by the integral method and others versions of the CCM.
