While the words "explosives" and "blasting" cause insurers to become apprehensive, skilled contractors using modern techniques under controlled conditions rarely cause serious damage or injury. However, blasting operations frequently result in complaints and, consequently, insurance claims. The purpose of this bulletin is to inform construction project participants of some of the mesures which may be taken to reduce losses arising from blasting operations.
