The big data revolution in healthcare represents not only a futuristic contingency of care and innovative cures; in fact, the analysis of large datasets currently provides critical insights for a rational and appropriate use of health resources (healthcare expenditure in Italy was 8.3% of GDP in 2014) and drives diriment decisions for the clinical governance.
