Trichosporon species are emerging human pathogens that cause high mortality in immunocom-promised patients 1. Despite increased occurrence of infections caused by Trichosporon species, data on their antifungal susceptibility are limited2'3. Differences in the antifungal susceptibility profiles of isolates within species have been reported 4. Although amphotericin B (AP) has been widely used for the treatment of disseminated Trichosporon infections, the in vitro susceptibility data indicate that some strains could be intrinsically resistant5. It has also been suggested that azoles exhibit greater therapeutic efficacy than amphotericin B in the treatment of trichosporonosis
