CANTON, Ga. - Times have changed, and many people change jobs these days nearly as often as some politicians change their stance on important issues. But look back a few decades into America's history and you'll find that most folks took on a job for life. In the fairly recent past, keeping the same job for 20, 30 or 40 years was not uncommon. When Billy Milner went to an automotive trade school in Chicago back in the 1950s after leaving the military, he prepared himself for a career, and like many men of his generation he would stay in that career for quite a long time - in Milner's case, that would be a period of 52 years before he decided to retire.
