Effects of rnethylophiopogonanone B on melanosome transfer and dendrite retraction

Hyperpigmental skin disorders, such as melasma, postinflammatory hyperpigmentation and lentigo senilis (LS) are medically treated with skin-lightening reagents, but these are not always effective. For example, whitening ingredients, including tyrosinase inhibitors such as hydroquinone and kojic acid, are ineffective at low concentrations and unsafe at high concentrations . Although various advances have been made in controlling skin tone, safer, more effective and less irritating lightening agents are still required. Considerable knowledge of basic pigment distribution and regulation processes has been accumulated to date, and should be applicable to the discovery of new agents for controlling skin color.
