One of the most pressing problems in the world today is to find means to accelerate the economic growth of developing countries. In many cases,this growth is in danger of being frustrated through the failure of food production to keep with increased growth of population. It has been found that even without the use of other inputs to raise agriculture production,the application of fertilizers can increase output by at least 50% under the conditions prevailing in many developing countries. This study is devoted to transform the low grade phosphate ore into granulated fertilizer produced by partial acidulation with phosphoric acid (98% concentration). The productivity of phosphate granules,the crushing strength,the reactivity of P2O2 in water and citric acid are determined. Also,the produced fertilizer is 'examined in growing of beans and zucchini (vegetable marrow) plant. The results show that the maximum productivity of granules is achieved at 60% acidulation by phosphoric acid. It is also seen that the reactivity of P_2O_5 in citric acid increased as the degree of acidulation by phosphoric acid increased. The amount of phosphorus uptake by the plant is high in case of 100% acidulation by H_3PO_4.
