摘要

Congenital heart disease is the leading cause of infant mortality related to birth defects in the United States. Two-dimensional sonography is routinely used to evaluate the fetal heart during obstetric examinations, yet less than 25% of congenital heart disease is detected felally. When combined with spatiolemporal image correlation, an algorithm for creating real-lime volumes of moving structures. 3D sonography simplifies fetal cardiac imaging while increasing the accuracy of the sonographic assessment of defects. Spatiotemporal image correlation technology is relatively easy to learn to use and offers a more thorough way to evaluate the fetal heart, increasing accuracy in detecting cardiac anomalies.
