Florida citrus looks to fill the GAPs

The Florida citrus industry seems to be saturated with acronyms. Each day I come to the office and joke, "Which acronym am I focusing on today?" Recently the buzz has surrounded GAPs or good agricultural practices.GAPs are primarily a documented collection of production practices aimed at keeping food safe. Most growers already perform many GAPs as part of their normal operations, such as making sure wells are cased correctly or harvesters know how to wash their hands properly.
