North American ArcelorMittal’s assets report good results in Q3 2014

In the third quarter of 2014, ArcelorMittal, the largest steelmaker in the world, improved financial performance in North America. In the reported period, EBITDA soared almost 2.5-fold quarter-on-quarter and went up by 2.8% year-on-year to $429 million in the region. The dramatic difference with the previous period is attributed to expenses for investigations into an antitrust case worth $90 million in Q2. The rise in Q3 results is owing to increased shipments and higher average sale price.
