Coils prices keep growing in USA

The situation in the US coils market is favourable for steelmakers on the back of strengthening demand from traders and distributors. Traders are becoming more interested in purchases seeing increasing lead time: currently, mills have sold out HR coils for six weeks in advance and CR coils – for eight weeks. Current situation is mostly attributed to production suspension at some plants of ArcelorMittal USA and Nucor as well as the planned stoppage for an upgrade at U.S. Steel.
