Scrap suppliers press for higher prices in Turkey

The Turkish scrap market is calm at the beginning of December. The majority of producers are focused on sales of finished products and therefore have not decided on scrap purchases yet, Metal Expert hears. Nevertheless, several scrap deals were settled at the end of last week. An exporter from the Netherlands has got $380/t CFR Turkey for HMS 1&2 (75:25) and $400/t CFR for HMS 1. With regard to the contract, quotes of European HMS 1&2 (70:30) have edged up $4/t to $375/t CFR Turkey. HMS 1&2 (80:20) is available at $390-395/t CFR Turkey against $389/t CFR earlier.
