An Experimental Study of Corn Stover Briquetting Fuel in Frigid Areas

In order to optimize the processing technology of corn stover briquetting fuel in frigid areas, the straw fuel forming experiment is carried out by using self-made flat briquetting machine. On the basis of single-factor experimental study, with different pH values of biogas slurry, the rotational speed of pressure roller and pretreatment time of biogas slurry as influential factors, the relaxation ratio and forming ratio of corn stover briquette as the indexes, using three-factor and five-level quadratic orthogonal rotation combination design, the effects of the flat die rolling and molding process on the property of biomass briquetting fuel is discussed, and the optimal process parameters are obtained as follows: moisture content of 13%-15%, biogas slurry's pH value of 7.58, pressure roller speed of 70 r/min, pretreatment time of 9 h. Under such technological conditions, the relaxation ratio of produced briquetting fuel is less than 11.5%, the forming ratio is greater than 85%, and the average relaxed density is 1.346 g/cm(3). The research results can provide reference basis for the production of corn stover briquette using flat die briquetting machine.
