摘要

New compounds derived from 3-halo-2,6-lutidineN-oxides were synthesized as potential precursors to light-conversion molecular materials. The synthesis, chemicalcharacterisation and spectroscopic studies of the six-coordinatepraseodymium(III) complex with the bromide derivative arereported. IR and Raman spectra were measured and are discussedin terms of the possible structure and composition of thiscompound. The electronic absorption, emission and excitationspectra were recorded and analysed. The ~3P_0 -> ~3H_(4,5,6)emissions were observed. Selective excitation in the UV regionwas used to assign the energy levels of Pr~(3+) in this complex.
