摘要

A two-step approach has been developed for the large-scale synthesis of MSnO_3 (M = Ca, Sr and Ba) perovskite materials. Luminescence of Eu~(3+) ions in these host materials has been investigated. The emission spectra of CaSnO_3:Eu~(3+) and BaSnO_3:Eu~(3+) are dominated by the red ~5D_o - > ~7F_2 transition at 614 nm. Whereas, the SrSnO_3:Eu~(3+) has comparable emission intensity in the ~5D_o - > ~7F_2 and ~5D_o - > ~7F_1 bands. Moreover, luminescence intensity is more favorable in CaSnO_3:Eu~(3+) than in SrSnO_3:Eu~(3+) and in BaSnO_3:Eu~(3+). The results are inteipreted in terms of the geometric environment of the Eu~(3+) lattice and ionic radius compatibility between the Eu~(3+) and alkaline earth ions (Ca~(2+), Sr~(2+) and Ba~(2+)).
