PSORS1C1/CDSN is associated with ankylosing spondylitis

The psoriasis susceptibility 1 candidate 1 (PS0RS1C1, formerly SEEK1) gene predominantly confers susceptibility to psoriasis, an immune-mediated skin disease [1-3]. PSORS1C1 contains CDSN, a gene encoding the corneodesmosin, in its 5'-UTR. Anky-losing spondylitis (AS) is an immune-related disorder with chronic spondyloarthritis [4]. This study determined whether common polymorphisms in PSORSlCljCDSN are associated with AS.
