Plzensky Prazdroj a. s. in the Czech Republic is planning to consolidate its position as one of Europe's leading breweries by reducing costs while increasing capacity. The company also aims to preserve its high production standards and to reduce environmental pollution. In order to ensure that these processes reach the whole company and include every employee, the company needs a transparent basis for making its decisions. This was the background to the creation of the Production Management and Information Systems (PMIS), a system that gathers all relevant process, analytical and logistics data at the brewery and makes them available through a uniform user interface throughout the whole plant. This information is used to optimize the brewing processes, including filling, production storage and auxiliary processes. It also helps to significantly reduce production costs.
