paintcare — A Sustainable Solution for Leftover Paint

No discussion of "green" coatings would be complete without some focus on the end-of-life management of leftover paint. Fortunately, the ability to recycle unwanted (leftover) paint is now easier in some states, thanks to the paint stewardship programs being operated by PaintCaref a nonprofit organization established by the American Coatings Association (ACA). The program is the culmination of several years of joint efforts to identify the best solution for managing the recovery of unwanted, leftover architectural paint for reuse, recycling, energy recovery, or safe disposal. PaintCare currently operates five state-mandated programs in California, Connecticut, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont and is now developing programs for Minnesota, Maine, and Colorado.
