EPA Maintains Emissions Thresholds for its GHG Tailoring Rule, Step 3

On July 3, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decided not to revise the greenhouse gas (GHG) permitting thresholds in the third step of its tailoring rule. In maintaining the current thresholds, EPA said that state permitting authorities need more time to develop the infrastructure necessary to issue greenhouse gas permits. In its final rule, EPA also approved plantwide applicability limits for industrial facilities.
