North American jet fuel consumption totaled some 1.63 million b/d in November, up 3% from the year-earlier month and accelerating from the 0.5% gain in the third quarter. The US paced the growth with a 4% rise to 1.48 million b/d spurred by double-digit gains at airports on the Gulf Coast and in the Midwest. Fuel demand at East Coast locations accounts for one-third of the US total and fell by nearly 5% from year-ago levels. Canadian usage continued to shrink, falling by 14% in November, while Mexican demand posted a gain of 5.7% to 63,000 b/d on strong tourist arrivals.
