A bolt in the right direction

Cable bolts have been proven to be an effective and key component in a mine's ground control plan. Non-tensioned and tensioned cable bolts are now used for both primary and supplemental bolting. Cable bolts are typically installed in a 1 - 1.375 in. dia. drill hole and utilised with 4-5 equivalent feet of resin. However, fully encapsulating a cable bolt with traditional resins is very difficult. Recently there has been a desire for a fully-encapsulated cable bolt. Through key customer input, Jennmar Corp. and Keystone Mining Services LLC (KMS) recently developed the fully-grouted cable bolt (FGCB), which can be fully-encapsulated during installation or post-installation with polyurethane (PUR).
