摘要

Cognitive therapy (CT) for depression was first developed by Aaron Beck over 30 years ago, and since then has become the treatment of choice for psychological approaches to managing this increasingly prevalent condition. Despite the widespread research attention CT for depressive disorders has received, clinicians find it somewhat challenging to synthesise the main messages from this body of research into their everyday clinical practice, which is rich with the complexities of real-world patients. 'Adapting Cognitive Therapy for Depression' was written with the express purpose of addressing this issue, and attempts to guide clinicians through the process of modifying and adapting standard CT interventions for a range of complex cases. This book brings together a number of leaders in the field, who provide useful lessons learned from many years of experience in treating depression.
