The heat of transition is among the most important characteristics of phase transitions of the first order. In 1762, Black [1] established that the transformation of water into vapor is accompanied by the absorption of a certain amount of heat and called it the latent heat of evaporation. Despite the fact that more than two centuries have passed since the introduction of this concept, no analytical expressions relating the heat of transition to other parameters of phase transformations have been found. For example, articles devoted to the heat of evaporation, heat of melting, etc., in the basic Physical Encyclopedia [2] contain no formulas and only present tables of the corresponding experimental data. The same is true for the well-known monographs [3-9], which also do not present relations other than the definition of the heat of transition as X = TAS. For this reason, establishing relations between the heat of transition and other parameters of a first-order phase transition contributes significantly to the theory of phase transformations.
