Regarding the interesting article on the "History and Early Development of the Modern Chrysanthemum" {Chronica Hort. 53(1):20-26) by Judith Taylor, I would like to make the following comment.On page 21, she states: "A Dutch merchant, Jacob Layn, had introduced chrysanthemums into The Netherlands in about 1688,...". This family name Layn is fictitious and should be corrected to Breyn(e), Brayn(e), or Breynius.
