Apparently, nanoscrolls belong to a nanotube group of rather different composition and morphol ogy. Nanoscrolls can be considered as transient structures that transform to manywall nanotubes of the cylinderincylinder type. This was indicated in [1] for the mechanism of carbonnanotube forma tion as an example (see [1]). The nanoscrolls are formed as either nanoheterostructures [2] or twisted nanocrystals [3]. The possibility of the existence of the latter was indicated by Pauling already in 1930 [4] as a result of the analysis of certain types of lay ered hydrosilicates. Various models of the twisting processes were proposed and substantiated experi mentally in [3, 5–7]. Meanwhile, it was shown in [3, 8, 9] that the twisting rate for a layer does not neces sarily determine the kinetic parameters of nanoscroll formation.
