In the motion of bodies through fluids layered in their density (stratified fluids) and placed into the field of the force of gravity, internal waves are generated. Therefore, even in the model of an ideal stratified medium, the d’Alembert paradox, well known in the theory of homogeneous fluids, is absent: the bodies manifest wave drag. The motion of axisymmetric bodies along the direction of the force of gravity is simpli- fied by virtue of the additional symmetry.
