SWITCHING TO THE STATES: Irish switchgear maker Anord targets U.S. markets with new Virginia factory

An Irish electrical equipment manufacturer believes its low-voltage switchgear - which it said is popular on the other side of the Atlantic - will be a hit with the North American data center market. Anord Critical Power Inc., a subsidiary of Ireland's Anord Control Systems Ltd., has opened a 50,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility in Sandston, Va., and expects to begin building its modular Form 4b Type 7 switchgear there this spring, said John Day, vice president of marketing and sales for the U.S. subsidiary.
