ANOTHER CVT OPTION - Swiss-based MALI unveils new continuously variable transmission design at Bauma

Anew player in the market of stepless continuously variable transmissions took a step forward at the recent Bauma exhibition in Germany, as Swiss-based MALI Group presented a new range of power-split CVT gearboxes. In developing high-performance tractors in the mid-1990s, MALI founder Markus Liebherr faced a lack of components available in the market in order to fulfill the product requirements he wanted to achieve with his tractors. Recognizing a market niche for components able to meet those needs, Liebherr started developing his own components by founding MALI, which eventually grew to a group of companies - MALI Motan AG (power-shifted CVT gearboxes), MALI Bodensee Steuergerate GmbH (engine and transmission control units) and MALI Common Rail Technologies (fuel injection systems).
