POWER IN PARIS - Intermat provides stage for new Cummins, Scania Stage 3b/Tier 4 Interim engines

The upcoming Intermat trade exhibition in Paris, France, will provide the backdrop for the launch of new engines meeting the EU Stage 3b and EPA Tier 4 Interim off-highway emissions regulations. Offerings come from Scania and Cummins, with the latter unveiling the next-generation QSL9 engine. The QSL9 will be showcased with a fully integrated air-intake to exhaust aftertreatment system with all Cummins Tier 4 technology enablers. Cummins said adding the cleaner, more efficient combustion reduces the fuel consumption of the engine by up to 5%, dependent on rating.
