FUELCELL BUS HITS THE HYBRID ROAD - Mercedes-Benz introduces next generation of Citaro fuel cell-hybrid bus

Mercedes-Benz has demonstrated the next generation of its fuel cell-hybrid bus with the Citaro FuelCELL-Hybrid. The fuel cell-hybrid bus combines elements of Mercedes-Benz's diesel-electric Citaro G BlueTec Hybrid bus, plus some technical enhancements housed on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban bus chassis. The launch of the Citaro FuelCELL-Hybrid prototype has been followed by small series production, and a large-scale test will be carried out in 2010 with 10 customer vehicles in service in Hamburg, Germany. Mercedes-Benz said it will conduct further in-service testing with customer fleets throughout Europe.
