Alstom Thermal Power is engaged in the construction of a 450 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant at RheinEnergie's Niehl location, near the river Rhine on the northern outskirts of Cologne, Germany. The Alstom unit is located adjacent to another two combined-cycle units and will be operated in parallel with them once commissioned in 2016.
