Rentech continues disposal of non-core alternative energy assets

Rentech has closed on the sale of 450 acres of land near Natchez, Miss. For US$9 million, Biomass Magazine reported. The sale is part of its plan to dispose of non-core alternative energy assets and to focus on nearer-term profitable growth opportunities. In February, the company announced its plan to cease operations at its research and development production demonstration unit (PDU) in Commerce City, Colo. At the unit, the company demonstrated its gasification and Fischer-Tropsch technologies for the production of bio-based jet and diesel fuel.
