Viridor's amended plans for WTE plant in Fengate approved

Peterborough and City Council's Planning and Environmental Protect Committee have approved Yjridor's amendments to a plan for a waste-to-energy plant at Fourth Drove, Fengate, United Kingdom, The facility will be located at the integrated Resource Recovery Park on Fengate Industrial Estate. The original plan proposed by Viridor in 2010 called for a 65,000 tonne per year waste to energy facility. Viridor, a part of the Pennon Group, now plans to build a facility with a waste processing capacity of 85,000 tonnes per year. Further, the amended facility will have a 40 percent smaller footprint than the originally consented plant.
